Sommelier

April has been a sommelier in Toronto restaurants for more than 15 years. A returning InterVin judge, she has many awards and accolades to her credit, including being named Ontario’s Best Sommelier through the Canadian Association of Professional Sommeliers in 2004, followed by a competitive experience at the national level. She was also named best sommelier in Toronto in the January 2008 issue of Wine Business International.  Her most prized award was earned when she received the Brock University Promoters’ Award designed to recognize individuals who have consistently promoted VQA wines through education and/or promotion.

Kilpatrick’s resume includes wine-based travel to destinations including France, Greece, California, Spain and Portugal, as well as offering education and training to others.

Kilpatrick has been a Guest Speaker at the World’s First Sommelier Congress in Delphi, Greece through the ASI (Association Sommelliere International) in 2006. She has also been a Guest Speaker at the Inauguration of the First World Gathering of Sommeliers from around the World in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain in 2008.

A Niagara native, April has returned to her roots and is excited to share her knowledge of local wines and producers to all guests at Windows by Jamie Kennedy.
